Heidi Torgerson

Heidi Torgerson (she/her/hers) is a preacher, writer, speaker, and coach based in the Chicago area. She leads from a deep passion for the ways that the liberating love of Jesus takes shape in people’s lives and in the life of the world.

Ordained in the ELCA, Heidi served the global church for nearly 15 years, beginning as a missionary in Mexico. Her decade of leadership with the Young Adults in Global Mission program helped shape a wild, faithful, courageous community of more than 1,000 young adults committed to helping God’s reign of justice break forth. Heidi currently serves as Lead Pastor for Grace Lutheran Church in LaGrange, IL – a large, vibrant, outwardly-focused congregation in the inner ring suburbs of Chicago. She loves the people of Grace mightily.

Heidi is married to Jason, a Lutheran pastor who hails from Canada. He’s constantly reminding her that if we’re not having fun, we’re doing it wrong. Their blended, tri-national, bilingual family includes three amazing kids. Because all three kids share half-Scandinavian, half-Mexican heritage, their parents sometimes refer to them as “the three Norwexicans.” It only seems fitting.
